Vessels.

Primarily stoneware, coil-built and layered with porcelain slips, stains, and oxides. Each piece is formed through an intuitive, experimental process, often guided by memory, story, environment, and poetry as they emerge through the making.

These works live as sculptural presences.

A selection of vessels are available.

Bespoke works can be made by commission.

Cloud Never Dies, H. 46cm

Cloud Never Dies

The title quotes Thích Nhất Hạnh, the Vietnamese Zen Buddhist monk whose writings have offered me refuge in the practice of mindful living.
This piece is a stoneware coil-built vessel layered with porcelain-coloured slip. I sought to capture the ever-changing sky and sea in a swirl of wind and sea spray.
Cloud Never Dies was submitted for the Western Living Designer of the Year Awards, where it received both the Maker’s Category award and the People’s Choice Award (2025).

“Sooner or later, the cloud will change into rain or snow or ice.
If you look deeply into the rain, you can see the cloud.
The cloud is not lost; it is transformed into rain,
and the rain is transformed into grass,
and the grass into cows and then to milk,
and then into the ice cream you eat.”

— Thích Nhất Hạnh

Joy and Woe H. approx 42cm

My title is drawn from a line in Auguries of Innocence by William Blake, written around 1803.

The making of this piece unfolded in layers: a little pink marble, a budding magnolia flower, and tears.

The work is formed from stoneware coils, painted with porcelain and mixed-colour stains.
